Create an elegant wall hanging or table runner with this Asian-inspired quilt art. Simple, illustrated instructions for piecing and machine appliqué make this a fast, easy project for your home.

Supplies:

  • ½ yard – black solid or small print for background squares
  • ¼ yard each of five Asian prints (assorted reds, creams, golds, or grays) for fan blades   OR   (5) 6” x 18” strips of Asian prints
  • 1/8 yard – gold print for inner border and flower stamen
  • 1/8 yard – green print for flower stem and leaves
  • 1/8 yard – cream print for flower head
  • 1/3 yard – red Asian print for outer border
  • ¾ yard – backing
  • ¼ yard – binding
  • Plastic Template Material – small piece for one fan blade template
  • Tear Away Stabilizer for appliqué, approx. ½ yard –(optional)
  • Paper fusible web for Calla Lilly appliqué – approx. ¼ yard.
